मेरा स्वास्थ्य- मेरे हाथ

क्या खाएँ- क्या पिएँ??

खाना और पानी का बहुत गहरा संबंध है। यूं तो जल ही जीवन है, पर खाने के तुरंत बाद पानी पीना जहर के बराबर है। ऐसा क्यों, ये जानना बहुत आवश्यक है.!
 
हम पानी क्यों ना पीये, खाना खाने के बाद। क्या कारण है? हमने दाल खाई, हमने सब्जी खाई, हमने रोटी खाई, हमने दही खाया, लस्सी पी, दूध, छाछ, लस्सी, फल आदि.! ये सब कुछ भोजन के नाम पर हमने ग्रहण किया, ये सबकुछ हमको उर्जा देता है और पेट उस उर्जा को आगे ट्राँसफर करता है। पेट मे एक छोटा सा स्थान होता है जिसको हम हिंदी मे कहते है "आमाशय" उसी स्थान का संस्कृत  नाम है "जठर" उसी स्थानको अंग्रेजी मे कहते है "epigastrium" ये एक थैली की तरह होता है।
 
यह जठर हमारे शरीर का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण अंग है, क्योंकि सारा खाना सबसे पहले इसी मे आता है। ये बहुत छोटा सा स्थान है इसमें 350 ग्रा. तक ही खाना आ सकता है। हम जब कुछ भी खाते हैं, वह सब इस आमाशय मे आ जाता है.! आमाशय मे अग्नि प्रदीप्त होती है उसी को कहते हैं, "जठराग्नि"। ये जठराग्नि मे प्रदीप्त होने वाली आग आपके कुछ भी खाते पीते यहाँ तक की सोचते समय प्रदीप्त हो जाती है।  यह ऑटोमेटिक है,  जैसे ही अपने रोटी का पहला टुकडा मुँह मे डाला, कि इधर जठराग्नि प्रदीप्त हो गई.! ये अग्नि तब तक जलती है, जब तक खाना पचता है। पर आपने खाते ही गटागट पानी पी लिया, कोल्ड ड्रिंक पी ली, और खूब ठंडा पानी पी लिया और कई लोग तो बोतल पे बोतल पी जाते है.!

अब जो आग (जठराग्नि) जल रही थी, वो बुझ गयी.! आग अगर बुझ गयी तो खाने की पचने की जो क्रिया चलनी थी, वो अचानक बंद हो गई । आप शिकार बन जाते हैं IBS के, यानी Irritable Bowl Syndrome-Never CURABLE यानी ऐसीबीमारी जो पेट को पूरी जिंदगी के लिए रोगी कर देतीहै।

अब हमेशा याद रखें खाना जाने पर हमारे पेट में दो ही क्रिया होती है, एक क्रिया है जिसको हम कहते हैं "Digestion" और दूसरी है "fermentation" फर्मेटेशन का मतलब है सडना और डायजेशन का मतलब है पचना.! आयुर्वेद के हिसाब से आग जलेगी, तो खाना पचेगा, खाना पचेगा तो उससे रस बनेगा.! जो रस बनेगा तो उसी रस से मांस, मज्जा, रक्त, वीर्य, हाड, मल, मूत्र और अस्थि बनेगा और सबसे अंत मे मेद बनेगा.! ये तभी होगा जब खाना पचेगा.! यह सब हमें चाहिए। ये तो हुई खाना पचने की बात ।

अब जब खाना सड़ेगा तब क्या होगा..?  खाने के सड़ने पर सबसे पहला जहर जो बनता है, वो है, यूरिक एसिड (uric acid), कई बार आप डॉक्टर के पास जाकर कहते है, कि मेरा घुटना दुःख रहा है, खटास वाली डकार आ रही है, खाना पच नहीं रहा है, मुझे कंधे कमर मे तकलीफ हो रही है, वगैरा। तो डॉक्टर क्या कहेगा? आपका यूरिक एसिड बढ़ रहा है। आप ये दवा खाओ, पानी खूब पिओ, वो दवा खाओ, यूरिक एसिड कम करो|
 
और एक दूसरा उदाहरण; जब खाना सड़ता है, तो यूरिक एसिड जैसा ही एक दूसरा विष बनता है जिसको हम कहते हैं, LDL (Low Density lipoprotive) माने खराब कोलेस्ट्रोल (cholesterol)आपको जब घबराहट होती है, सांस लेने में तकलीफ होती है, तब आप ब्लड प्रेशर(BP) चेक कराने डॉक्टर के पास जाते हैं तो वो आपको कहता है (HIGH BP) हाई-बीपी है आप पूछोगे... कारण बताओ? तो़ वो कहेगा, आपका कोलेस्ट्रोल बहुत ज्यादा बढ़ा हुआ है|

 
आप ज्यादा पूछोगे की़ कोलेस्ट्रोल कौन सा बहुत है ? तो वो आपको कहेगा LDL बहुत है | इससे भी ज्यादा खतरनाक एक  विष है, वो है, VLDL (Very Low Density Lipoprotive); ये भी कोलेस्ट्रॉल जैसा या यूँ कहें, उससे ज्यादा खतरनाक विष है। अगर VLDL बहुत बढ़ गया, तो आपकी मुसीबत इतनी बढ सकती है कि फिर भगवान भी नहीं बचा सकता| खाना सड़ने पर और जो जहर बनते है उसमे एक ओर विष है जिसको अंग्रेजी मे हम कहते है triglycerides। जब भी डॉक्टर आपको कहे की आपका "triglycerides" बढ़ा हुआ है, तो समझ लीजिये कि आपके शरीर मे विष तेजी से बन रहा है | तो कोई यूरिक एसिड के नाम से कहे, कोई कोलेस्ट्रोल के नाम से कहे, कोई LDL -VLDL के नाम से कहे तो समझ लीजिए की ये सब विष हैं और ऐसे विष 103है | ये सभी विष तब बनते है, जब खाना पछता नहीं है, सड़ता है | मतलब समझ लीजिए किसी का कोलेस्ट्रोल बढ़ा हुआ है, तो एक ही मिनिट मे ध्यान आना चाहिए कि खाना पच नहीं रहा है, कोई कहता हे मेरा triglycerides बहुत बढ़ा हुआ है तो एक ही मिनिट मे डायग्नोसिस कर लीजिए आप कि आपका खाना पच नहीं रहा है | कोई कहता है मेरा यूरिक एसिड बढ़ा हुआ है, तो एक ही मिनिट लगना चाहिए समझने मे कि खाना पच नहीं रहा है | क्योंकि खाना पचने पर इनमे से कोई भी जहर नहीं बनता.! खाना पचने पर जो बनता है, वो है....मांस, मज्जा, रक्त, वीर्य, हाड, मल, मूत्र, अस्थि. और मेद! और खाना नहीं पचने पर बनता है....यूरिक एसिड, कोलेस्ट्रोल, LDL-VLDL.! और यही आपके शरीर को रोगों का घर बनाते है। पेट मे बनने वाला यही जहर जब ज्यादा बढ़कर खून मे आते है ! तो खून दिल नाड़ियो मे से निकल नहीं पाता और रोज थोड़ा थोड़ा कचरा जो खून मे आया है, इक्कठा होता रहता है और एक दिन नाड़ी को ब्लॉक कर देता है जिसे आप heart attack  होना कहते हैं ।
 
तो हमें जिंदगी मे ध्यान इस बातपर देना है की जो हम खा रहे हैं, वो शरीर मे ठीक से पचना चाहिए और इसके लिए जरूरी है कि पेट मे ठीक से आग (जठराग्नि) प्रदीप्त होनी ही चाहिए| क्योंकि बिना आग के खाना पचता नहीं है और खाना पकता भी नहीं है। सो महत्व की बात खाने को खाना नहीं खाने को पचाना है | आपने क्या खाया कितना खाया वो महत्व नहीं हे.! खाना अच्छे से पचे ये सबसे जरूरी है।

इसके लिए वागभट्ट जी ने सूत्र दिया.! "भोजनान्ते विषं वारी" (मतलब खाना खाने के तुरंत बाद पानी पीना
जहर पीने के बराबर है) इसलिए खाने के तुरंत बाद पानी या कोई भी ठंडा पेय कभी मत पिये। अब आपके मन मे सवाल आएगा कितनी देर तक नहीं पीना? तो 1 घंटे 48 मिनट तक नहीं पीना !  अब आप कहेंगे इसका क्या calculation हैं.? बात ऐसी है....! जब हम खाना खाते हैं तो जठराग्नि में खाया हुआ खाना  सब एक दूसरे मे मिक्स होता है और फिर खाना पेस्ट मे बदलता हैं.! पेस्ट मे बदलने की क्रिया होने तक 1 घंटा 48 मिनट का समय लगता है ! उसके बाद जठराग्नि मंद यानी कम हो जाती है.! (बुझती तो नहीं लेकिन बहुत धीमी हो जाती है), पेस्ट बनने के बाद शरीर मे रस बनने की प्रक्रिया आरंभ होती है ! तब हमारे शरीर को पानी की आवश्यकता होती हैं। तब आप जितना इच्छा हो उतना पानी पिये.! जो बहुत मेहनती लोग है (खेत मे हल चलाने वाले, रिक्शा खीचने वाले, पत्थर तोड़ने वाले) । उनको 1 घंटे के बाद ही रस बनने लगता है उनको एक घंटे बाद पानी पीना चाहिए !  अब आप कहेंगे खाना खाने के कितने मिनट पहले तक पानी पी सकते हैं? तो खाना खाने के 45 मिनट पहले तक आप पानी पी सकते हैं ! अब आप पूछेंगे ये मिनट का calculation....? बात ऐसी ही जब हम पानी पीते हैं तो वो शरीर के प्रत्येक अंग तक जाता है ! और अगर बच जाये तो 45 मिनट बाद मूत्र पिंड तक पहुंचता है.! तो पानी - पीने से मूत्र पिंड तक आने का समय 45 मिनट का है। तो आप खाना खाने से 45 मिनट पहले ही पाने पिये।

Parenting is an art- Indian Parenting- Part II

Making the child own his/her actions
It is important to realise that roots of Indian culture still vibrates in its families and social-cultural values. Children must remain in emotional touch of grand parents and other members of the family. Good and positive emotional health brings complete growth of the child. It adds to immunity, resilience and adaptability. Parents who are vigilant, observant and careful are the source of emotional upbringing for the child. Emotional upbringing necessarily means to cultivate values like modesty, concern, trustworthiness, empathy, honesty, commitment, accountability, etc. These become the core values for him/her to lead his/her happy and healthy life. Lack of values becomes source of negative traits. The child who disowns his/her actions continuously in the childhood, is less likely to develop the values of accountability, commitment, honesty or trust in his later life and those become cause of concern for him/her. 
A new study published in Developmental Psychology examined lying in two and three-year-old children and some of the cognitive skills involved with deception.   Conducted by Angela Evans of Brock University and Kang Lee of the University of Toronto, the study used a series of executive functioning and verbal tasks as well as two deception tasks to measure lying behaviour.  
Based on their results, the authors suggested that children as young as two years old were capable of spontaneous lying and that lying behaviour rose dramatically by the time they were three years old.   The authors also suggested that this was not because younger children were more honest but that they were less able to carry out the complex cognitive tasks that went into telling lies.   In other words, children with better cognitive ability are capable of telling better lies.    All of which implies that lying is as much a developmental milestone as any other cognitive task (if not the sort that parents are likely to brag about). But developing a skill of lying by any means can not be justified in the name of the milestone. Let the child own his/her action and learn in the process, other varied characteristic features. 
But is lying always negative?   It's tempting to argue that lying is also linked to creativity since the ability to create fiction often relies on the same cognitive skills that go into telling a successful lie.   As children develop in their cognitive capacity, the ability to balance more than one reality in their head (which is what liars do when they create a fictional version of events to match with the truth) becomes easier.   It also means being able to recognize the difference between fiction and reality, much like what they watch on television as well as being able to create new stories. So parent's need to be cautious about all these studies because you as a parent is "NOT" preparing your child for a fiction.
However, it is important to understand that lying can not be judged in isolation. Child develops core values in tandem. These are interconnected, overlapping and need to be developed through proper parenting. 
How do I know that my child does not own his/her action?
  • The child hides the facts whenever he/she has not completed the task. S/he may cook stories well built to hide that fact. In such cases you need to be vigilant and keep on asking very politely. One should never resort to punishment to infuse correction. Punishment encourages the child to lie.
  • The child will avoid face-to-face contact, realising that he/she has to own an action which he/she did not.
  • The child will immediately shift the ownership of task to someone else, not present in the scene.

You need to be vigilant, observant and at the same time modest, polite, loving, caring but strict to take guard of actions of your child.

I have a banyan that was uprooted from the wall corner in 1981. It was a wonderful journey all these years.
Now it does have very small leaves. Roots have spread with the age and it looks really cute. It is now 34 years old.

Anger anger come again.....

Do you enjoy getting angry.... Do you think that getting angry is a routine, like I eat food, I drink water, I do this and I do that... so I do get angry also... What is so uncommon about it? Nothing so special at all....But  when you get angry, your body chemistry goes into turmoil. Your internal mechanism get drenched with nonsense, filthy and dirty chemicals that gets accumulated at almost every nook & corner of the body. 
Now think of these questions...
  • Are you often angry?
  • Do you frequently over react?
  • Do you take your anger out on someone other than the person you’re angry with?
  • Do you hold grudges, pout, or sulk? 
  • Do you stay angry for a long time?
  • Are you scared of your anger?
  • Are other people scared of your anger?
  • Does your anger negatively affect the people you live or work with?
  • Do you ever get violent when you’re angry?
If you answered yes to two or more of these questions, you may have a problem with anger. And anger may be keeping you from communicating effectively.
Getting angry, "if its a routine", then the matter is serious enough to take guard of situation immediately before it becomes urgent. The question is... where from this anger comes?? Anger comes from anxiety. Anxiety is the internal state of the individual when he/she is compromising his/her comfort zone. A little discomfort causes anxiety and throughput is anger. The worst part of anger are those innumerable harmful chemicals generated within our body due to brain flashes caused by anger. These chemicals cause upset stomach, headache, acidity, insomnia, bulimia and what not. As a matter of  fact, these chemicals are the origin of future diseases which you are going to have. There is no one way to stop these chemicals from oozing out. The body gets adapt to these chemicals slowly but the most harmful effect is, the brain looses connection with certain internal mechanism where these chemicals are stored. 
And still worst is the violence seen in the society that is the outcome of anger. People, country who love violence, breed anger within them. Negativity bounce in their lives so much that they live dual life. 
what annoys you??
When you are in a class or out of class and some strange behaviour of your students annoy you, what you need to do? Get angry, furious or just ignore. If you leave your unlocked bike in the centre of town, it is likely to get stolen. This can be frustrating and is likely to give rise to feelings of anger. Of course, we should  minimise this kind of situation – simply remember to lock your bike. If we feel there is an injustice in our workplace, we should work to resolve it; this will make our work environment more peaceful and less prone to creating anger. If we have a partner who is abusive, the solution is not just dealing with our own anger, but finding a more peaceful living situation.
Most of the time in our life, you need to use Common Sense.

How should I NOT get angry???
First thing, it is important to minimise the internal discomfort. Take the things/people /situation as they are. Don't put your brain unnecessarily to it. And the second important thing to NOT to get angry is, "don't fight with the anger". When you get angry, you fight with your own emotions and give it a rise till it bursts. When it comes, take a little stroll, drink a little water or watch a beautiful picture. And do the best you can for anything you are doing (for which you will feel good & pride internally). If you are cleaning do it in the best way. If you are writing, do it the best way.
My roads are dirty, it angers me. People drive rash, it angers me. Government doesn't do the right thing, it angers me. Let me guide this anger to another path where it takes a little stroll and I funnel it to a different channel. When we try to transcend anger, it doesn’t mean we have to acquiesce to injustice and unfairness. We should strive to make the world a better place. However, whatever our goals, it is always best to act with poise and a clear mind. Acting under the influence of anger makes it more difficult to attain what we wish to achieve.
Finally as a teacher, I occasionally feign anger to make students pay attention; sometimes, you need to show a stern face. That's the best way, NOT actually getting angry but showing anger. However, as a teacher you can’t afford to allow yourself to be over-run with the emotion of anger because then you may over-react and create problems.

आंतरिक रसायन विज्ञान- The Internal Chemistry

हम और हमारा रसायन शास्त्र- पार्ट II
क्या आपने कभी सोचा है किपिछले 10-15 वर्षों में समय के साथ-साथ बीमारियों का बड़ा जखीरा पैदा हो गया है। हमारी रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता यानि immunity दिन-प्रतिदिन घटती जा रही है।  बीमार हो भी गए, तो दवाएं काम ही नहीं करतीं। जो रोग पहले 10 mg की गोली से ठीक हो जाता है आज 500 mg से भी ठीक नहीं होता। बीमार करने वाले कीटाणु इतनी जल्दी अपना genetic code बदल लेते हैं कि दवा बनाने वाले भी चकरा जाएँ।   इसका सीधा असर हमारे रहन सहन और रिश्तों पर पड़ा है। Irritation, anxiety, गुस्सा और झुंझलाहट हर क्षण दिलो-दिमाग पर छाया रहता है। अब मन में ये डर बैठा होता है कि ये मत खाओ या ये मत पियो या यहाँ मत जाओ, आदि आदि । बच्चे ने सड़क के नलके का पानी पी लिया,  अब तो इसको पता नहीं कौन-कौन सी बीमारियाँ हो जाएंगी। आखिर ऐसा क्यू हो रहा है और इसका इलाज़ कहाँ है?
हुआ है ये कि हम स्वयं को manage करना ही नहीं जानते। मेरा मानना है, यदि आप अपने आप को अच्छे से manage कर सकते हैं तो दुनिया की किसी भी व्यवस्था या व्यक्ति/व्यक्तियों को manage कर सकते हैं। अब आप को छोटी छोटी बात पर anxiety होती है, तनाव होता है, गुस्सा आता है, तो आपका अपने ऊपर बस कहाँ रहा। फिर तो आपका बीमार होना लाज़मी है। आज की सबसे बड़ी जरूरत self-management की है। अपनी physical, mental और emotional बॉडी को manage करने की कला आना, आज सब से बड़ी जरूरत है। इसके लिए अपनी body chemistry को condition यानि अनुकूलन करना सबसे जरूरी है। ये बात ध्यान रखना जरूरी है कि आज जो हम हैं यानि हमारी फ़िज़िकल, मेंटल और इमोश्नल status उसकी नींव तो हमारे genetic code से शुरू हो गयी थी। समय के साथ हमने केवल स्थिति को ज़्यादातर बिगाड़ा ही है। लेकिन सुधार हमेशा संभव है, बशर्ते उसके लिए ईमानदार कोशिश की जाये। हमारी बॉडी केमिस्ट्री को regulate या deregulate करने का काम हमारे विचार यानि thoughts करते हैं। हमारे thoughts सीधे हमारे पेट से जुड़े होते हैं। इसका मतलब ये हुआ कि हमारे विचारों का सीधा असर हमारे digestive system पर पड़ता है। anxiety, anger, grudge, कुढ़न, जलन, दुख के भाव या विचार शरीर में नुकसान पहुंचाने वाले रसायनों कि भरमार कर देते हैं। जितने ज्यादा ऐसे विचार आएंगे, उतना ज्यादा रसायन शरीर मैं पैदा होगा। ये रसायन, नसों में दौड़ते हुए खून के साथ मिलकर सारे शरीर में फैल जाते हैं और समय आने पर अपच, acidity, अल्सर, सिरदर्द, जोड़ों का दर्द, मोटापा, बालों का झड़ना, असमय बूढ़ा होना, कैंसर, इत्यादि इत्यादि के रूप में प्रगट होते हैं। और तो और, ये हमारे दिमाग की कोशिकाओं को भी सुन्न या मृत कर देते है। ये रसायन हमारी न केवल दिमाग की वरन पूरे शरीर की कोशिकाओं को जल्दी-जल्दी निष्क्रिय करने का काम करते हैं, जिसके लिए विशेषज्ञ आपको  anti-oxidant लेने कि सलाह देते हैं। लेकिन.... anti-oxidant, इस समस्या का solution नहीं है, anti-oxidant आप कितना भी ले लें, जब तक सोचने का ढंग और नहीं बदलेगा, कुछ नहीं होगा। क्यूकी जब हम अपने सोचने का ढंग नहीं बदलेंगे , विचारों में सकारात्मक्ता नहीं लाएँगे, तब तक हालात नहीं  बदलेंगे, वरन दिन-प्रतिदिन बिगड़ते ही जाएंगे। इसका मतलब साफ है, यदि हमारे विचार सकारात्मक हैं जो हमे खुशी, love, affection, sharing, empathising के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं तो आप मान लें कि आप के शरीर मे अच्छे रसायन पैदा होंगे। जो आपको हमेशा खुशमिजाज़, energetic, हल्का फुल्का और मस्त रखेंगे। फिर आपको किसी anti- oxidant की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी। 
हमारी कोशिका ही हमारी ज़िंदगी की क्वालिटी को निर्धारित करती है। अमूमन हर एक मिनट मैं कुछ हज़ार कोशिकाएँ खतम हो जाती हैं और उनकी जगह नयी कोशिकाएँ पैदा हो जाती हैं। इन कोशिकाओं का replacement जितना तेज होता है, शरीर उतनी ही तेजी से बूढ़ा होता चला जाता है। जब नुकसान पहुँचने वाले रसायन बहुत ज्यादा generate होने लगते हैं तब अच्छी कोशिकाओं के मृत होने की रफ़्तार बहुत ज्यादा हो जाती है। यानि हर कोशिका को लंबे समय तक जीवित रखना और उसे ऊर्जावान रखने में ही स्वस्थ शरीर और स्वस्थ जीवन की चाबी छुपी हुई है

Transfer of thoughts or telepathy

 It is evident that there is some medium that works between two individuals when they try to interact with each other. The medium is air where sound travels, where light travels, where other electrical and electro-magnetic energy travel. Our thoughts are electro-magnetic energy like waves of our mobile phones. The range of thoughts are much higher than those of mobile phone frequencies. Actually your thoughts already reach the person in advance of your verbal communication. Thoughts travel faster as they are energy fields. The scientist from "Popov Group" Kaminski and Nikolov conducted initial researches on telepathy and proved that thought waves transmitted by one person reaches the other and vise-versa.
Telepathy may be defined as the transference of thoughts from the Mind of one person to the Mind of another person, or several other people, usually subconsciously, but in the case of those with high telepathic abilities can also be intentional. Telepathy often occurs spontaneously whereby a person might suddenly receive a “thought” from someone standing nearby, and might even respond to that though verbally much to the surprise of the originator of the thought. This happens much more often than people might realise, but very often such received thoughts are dismissed as a “figment of the imagination” originating in the Mind of the person who “received” the thought.
There are people who can communicate telepathically over great distances and with complete accuracy. Space and time are no barriers to telepathy, as the communication process is taking place upon the Mental Plane beyond the confines of space and time, and is therefore instantaneous, being a projection of Energy in the form of vibration.
Although telepathy is an ability that can be learned, there are people who inherently exhibit a very high level of telepathic ability, as sometimes happens in the case of identical twins for example.
Thoughts are at different levels of energy and therefore one receives only that level of thought to which his brain is set to receive. Thoughts remain in the form of thought clouds. These are formed due to conglomerate of similar thoughts. Our emotional body or astral body is responsible for generation, transmission and reception of thoughts. The health of emotional body decides the quality of thoughts; it means, healthy the emotional body is, higher level of thoughts can be transmitted by the brain.
Everyone in the Astral and inner worlds can therefore communicate regardless of the country or even planet from which they originated. Among humans still living on Earth, the physical plane, telepathy can be much more subtle than the transfer of words or even sentences, and people can, and frequently do influence each other at a much more subconscious level. For example when a person is in a good mood, that mood can be transferred to people around him or her, or even at a great distance. Whole crowds of people can influence each other in this way, and it can often be noted that whole families or groups of office workers might be feeling happy or depressed at exactly the same time, or any one of a number of other states of Mind. This is a more subtle but nevertheless important aspect of telepathy, where emotions are being transmitted rather than intentional communications.
So how exactly does telepathy work? There are several laws in operation here conforming in particular to the great Universal Laws of Mentalism and Correspondence. We already know from the principle of Mentalism the entire Universe is mental in nature, being infinite Mind and Consciousness, with everyone being a seamless part of the whole. An infinite possible number of direct lines of communication are therefore possible. It should be noted at this point that as thought transference is a mental process, it takes place between the Minds of two or more people upon the Mental plane. From the Mental plane a thought is then transmitted to the Astral Body through the Mental matrix, and finally to the physical human Mind through the Astral matrix where it is interpreted in the form of native language. Again, these communications are still Energy that is vibrating, transmitted and subsequently received by one or more people who are “in tune” with the same energy vibrations.
Thoughts are therefore most important and critical elements of life. Quality of thoughts decides quality of one's life. Improving quality of thoughts is possible through training. Body chemistry is responsible for the opening and closing-up of energy centres.

Developing temper of science among rural students

This case is an educational experiment conducted in six randomly selected rural schools in Sehore district of the State of Madhya Pradesh in Central India. The idea of popularisation of science was implemented using “knowledge network” among budding school children in these schools in a phased manner. The acceptance or rejection of the “idea” of studying science was closely observed during the project implementation. The project implemented was granted by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India and implemented through National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research, Bhopal and Department of Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

It was observed during the initial survey for project casting in 2011 that rural students have very little or no affinity towards learning science. The high school result of 17 rural schools indicated that 72% students performed poorly (having less than 50% marks in science subjects) in last three years. The project idea cropped up during the study that to develop interest of the rural students in learning science. The project on “Rural Knowledge Network through Vigyan evm Vichar Sanchar Kendras” (Science Information Communication Centres) (VVSK) addresses the issues of dissemination of scientific information to the grass root level using ICT.

To study the interest of the rural students towards learning science and developing positive attitude towards learning science, three phases were devised for the implementation, namely awareness phase, engagement phase and assimilation phase. The students were engaged in “Karo aur Seekho” (do & learn) in these three phases to gain insight and interest in the activities conducted.
To advance the student’s interest further in learning science, it was also decided to develop a “Knowledge Network” a portal to be made available on web with learning material in the form of narration, pictures and videos to help students from class 6th to class 12th. In addition to material of science, this portal also contained information on health, agriculture and marketing of agriculture produce. This was done with the intention of attracting not only students but also other rural masses in learning useful information. All the activities were documented through questionnaires, observation sheets, video films and pictures.

The project provided multiple learning experiences in developing a positive attitude among rural children. Students in rural areas have inherent aversion towards studies. This is due to the socio-economic framework, lack of resources in the schools, poorly trained teachers and lack of motivation and appreciation for learning. This leads further to rising level of dropouts and increase in number of poorly motivated students. This project has given significant indicators to develop conducive, purposeful and sustainable learning experiences for the students to make a dent in their life.

Creative persons are distinguished more by interest, attitude, values, motives and drive than intellectual ability alone. It was observed during the implementation of the project that the students in the rural areas have ample incubated urge to learn and excel. In the initial Phase of implementation of project encouraged the non-participating group of students to actively and enthusiastically involve in creating a competitive learning environment. Students have to be helped by the teachers to cultivate varied interest areas including games and play, flexibility, open-mindedness, spirit of cooperation but competition, a desire to achieve something extraordinary and derive psychic satisfaction out of such accomplishment comes from the learning environment created by students themselves.

This project also provides clue to develop creativity among rural students. It was proved at times that positive learning environment inculcated cooperative learning and drives out inhibitions thus creating a band of active learners. The rural students have inherent desire to learn which is comparable with the urban students and have capacity to excel. They need to be provided with the opportunity, resources and motivation.

जीवन का मूल उद्देश्य

ये सोचने की बात है, मेरी ज़िंदगी का उद्देश्य है क्या? पोजिशन, समाज में स्टेटस, बंगला, गाडी या कुछ और। आज हर कोई भागता हुआ नज़र आता है, पर उसे शायद यह नहीं समझ आता की वो क्यूँ भाग रहा है? आज इसके पीछे भागना, कल उसके पीछे भागना, शायद व्यक्ति की नियति ही यह बन जाती है कि वह मृगतृष्णा कि तरह भटकता रहे, भागता रहे, क्या मिला और क्या नहीं मिला, उसके बारे में सोचने का समय ही नहीं।

क्या है मेरे जीवन का उद्देश्य ??? इसका क्या मतलब हुआ? क्या मैं दुनिया का सबसे अमीर आदमी बनना चाहता हूँ? ये है मेरा उद्देश्य?? क्या मैं दुनिया का सबसे सुंदर व्यक्ति बनना चाहता हूँ?? या क्या मैं दुनिया का सबसे ताकतवर व्यक्ति बनना चाहता हूँ। क्या गलत है ऐसे लक्ष्य में? है, बहुत कुछ गलत है।  ये सारे लक्ष्य एक व्यक्ति तक सीमित हैं। इसमे उस व्यक्ति का स्वार्थ निहित है। इस लक्ष्य में सेवाभाव का अभाव है। इस लक्ष्य में जीवन के मूल्यों के प्रति समर्पण का अभाव है।  ऐसा लक्ष्य रखने वाला व्यक्ति अंत में दुखी ही नज़र आता है। इसका गवाह इतिहास है।

हमारा लक्ष्य यानि ज़िंदगी का उद्देश्य बिलकुल सुनिश्चित, साफ़ और दूरगामी, विस्तृत और सबसे बड़ी बात लक्ष्य सर्वभौम होना चाहिए। मानव मात्र की सेवा करना हमारा लक्ष्य हो सकता है। जीवन के उच्च मूल्यों को प्राप्त करके खुशी का अनुभव करना मेरा लक्ष्य हो सकता है। अपने बच्चों को संस्कारित करना हमारा लक्ष्य हो सकता है। समाज के हित साधन के लिए अपनी उपलब्धियों का इस्तेमाल करना, हमारा उद्देश्य हो सकता है।
लक्ष्य ऐसा होने चाहिए की जिंदगी ज़ीने का असली आनंद आ जाए। आपकी सफलता आपको उल्लासित करे, न कि चिंता का कारण बने।

लक्ष्य हासिल करने योग्य है या नहीं, यह सोचकर कभी लक्ष्य निर्धारित नहीं किया जा सकता, वरन उस असंभव से लगने वाले उस लक्ष्य कि प्राप्ति के लिए मैं अपना सौ प्रतिशत दे सकता हूँ यही सोच ही हमे उस लक्ष्य के करीब ले जाती है। कल्पना चावला सोलह दिन अन्तरिक्ष मे रहकर शटल से लौटते समय ठीक सोलह मिनट पहले उसका यान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया और वो काल के गाल में समा गयी। कल्पना चावला का सपना अन्तरिक्ष कि उन ऊंचाइयों को छूना था जिसकी हम कल्पना भी नहीं कर सकते और उसने उस लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करके अपना और अपने देश क नाम स्वरणक्षरों में लिख दिया।

गांधी, विवेकानंद, विनोबा भावे, बाबा आमटे और ना जाने कितने नाम आपके ज़हन में आते होंगे जिन्होने अपनी जिंदगी को समर्पित कर दिया, उस उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिए जिससे समाज, देश और मानव मात्र का भला हो सके। इसीलिए मनीषियों ने कहा है कि उद्देश्य यानि जीवन का लक्ष्य हमेशा ऊँचा होना चाहिए।

You and Your Potential

Each organization is managed by its employees at different levels. The productivity of the organisation depends upon the productivity of each of its employees. During recent times, organizations are being forced to contend with an increasingly diverse range of influential factors, which have implications for their efficiency and effectiveness (Marie McHugh, 1993)
These factors include overwork, overtime, higher expectations and shortage of employees, etc. Such factors are instrumental in creating a cumulative spiral of pressures among the employees and render them susceptible to the adverse effects of stress caused by such influences. The real productivity of the individual has remained an unknown term. The success stories of the individuals in different fields are the evidences that the individuals have enormous potential within them. In general terms the individual has 100% potential with him/her but is rarely known to him or anybody else throughout his/her lifetime. He expects to derive 30-40% of the actual potential which he/she assumes to be 100% but at the end of it s/he derives only a limited part (hardly 15-20%) of it. As a result of not knowing one’s potential, s/he is unable to cope up with the stress caused by different external and internal sources and succumb to pressure with low productivity.
 


This is true with every human body. You hardly receive 15% to 20% of the potential you actually have, whereas you expect that you should get 30% to 40% out of the potential you have. We are hardly aware of the hidden 55% to 60 % of the power within us. The whole life you live with your 15-20% potential, which you assume your 100% and complain to have bad luck, or not as lucky as others.  You hardly realise the importance of potential unless you are in competition with others to acquire something tangible.  Without the potential, you feel lost, sinking, hard to work, low at concentration and your body become incapacitated by a little exertion or infection. Each of us has differently developed potential inherited to us by our ancestors. The internal mechanism guides your way for performance. Some day, you are charged up and handle any task with ease and enthusiasm, another day you may take more time and energy to complete the same task, yet another day you are in pensive mood and won’t like to do anything.
Do you know why you have different state of mind on different days? Is it directly proportional to your food, mood or environment? There are certain indicators like, you feel great; you feel dull or feel beaten up. But none of these indicators are measurable. You certainly can never say “I am feeling just fifty percent great today” or “I am twenty percent down today”. Is this thought provoking? 



Parenting is an art- Indian Parenting- Part I

Parenting per se seems to be a usual task as we normally do other routines in our life. It is not so?? I believe that parenting is the university in itself. Grooming someone to become a responsible citizen in life cannot happen by chance. It has to be designed SMART meaning thereby ( S) with a specific purpose in mind, (M) measurable goals (what he or she is going to attain as per his/her capabilities and calibre), (A), attainable objectives (how she or he is going to achieve those objectives in a given time frame), (R) relevant to one’s likes (it is NOT the parent's choice to make him/her so and so, but it is his/her liking to become so and so.) and (T) time bound. This becomes the responsibility of the parents to design the path of life of the child together rather than imposing one's whims and wishes onto the child. Unfortunately neither parents nor schools are able to design the path of development of the child resulting in chaos and confusion.
Especially in Indian traditions where joint families still exist, a child grows amidst care and concern of the senior members of the family. The senior members of the family observe the growth of child very affectionately with emotional enrichment of relations, whether it is mother-child or father-child or mother-father. Thus a presence of a grand father or a grand mother makes a great difference in cultivating the much needed values of life. 
This is an important factor in determining how the child deals with the people outside the family. The Indian parenting style builds the mutual respect and trust for other people, their values and customs. Indian parents believe strongly that their child is part of a family and a community and that it is of prime importance that the child realizes that every decision she makes and every action she takes has consequences for the entire family and community. 
The world of parenting has changed in urban India to a large extent because of economic constraints and life-style management. This has great impact on nurturing values. In order that child grows up with results, parents put pressure on every aspect of child’s life. They expectations are often guided by fanatics of physical targets; those may not be true to capabilities of the child. As a result the child stays dependent on his parents for almost a quarter of his life. From the kind of clothes kids wear to the stream they choose in school or college, everything is decided by their parents. And this does not simply end here. The selection of the college, course, city of work and even the spouse hugely depends on their parents’ decisions, if not entirely, to a great extent. This ultimately creates lot of anxious moments for the child in his life. The child is groomed in wrong direction. The situation is changing in cities now as people started realising the negative aspects of poor parenting.
It is important to realise that roots of Indian culture still vibrates in its families and social-cultural values. Children must remain in emotional touch of grand parents and other members of the family. There is an eminent need of training young parents on parenting style. Inculcating values can only happen through responsible parents. Values are the much needed asset today. Lack of values means misdirected growth. Unfortunately the seats of learning like schools and colleges do not inculcate values by design. What they really develop is a matter of research. In such cases, parents need to be a lot vigilant, observant and cautious about their wards.
The five most important values that will impact the larger part of life of the child are.
1.     Making the child own his/her actions
2.     Developing an attitude of inquiry.
3.     Make him/her learn “the gratitude of getting”.
4.     Teach the child “the value of money”.
5.     Developing an attitude of "learning to learn".

Lord Hanuman- the deity of power and resilience

The Birth of Hanuman

The story of the birth of Hanuman goes thus: Vrihaspati had an attendant called Punjikasthala, who was cursed to assume the form of a female monkey — a curse that could only be nullified if she would give birth to an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Reborn as Anjana, she performed intense austerities to please Shiva, who finally granted her the boon that would cure her of the curse.

When Agni, the God of fire, gave Dasharath, the king of Ayodhya, a bowl of sacred dessert to share among his wives so they may have divine children, an eagle snatched a part of the pudding and dropped it where Anjana was meditating, and Pavana, the god of wind delivered the drop to her outstretched hands. We worship Lord Hanuman on Tuesdays and in some cases, Saturdays, many people keep fast in honour of Hanuman and give special offerings to him. In times of trouble, it is a common faith among Hindus to chant the name of Hanuman or sing his hymn ("Hanuman Chalisa") and proclaim "Bajrangbali Ki Jai" — "victory to thy thunderbolt strength". Once every year — on the full-moon day of the Hindu month of Chaitra (April) at sunrise — Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Hanuman. Hanuman temples are among the most common public shrines found in India.

The character of Hanuman teaches us of the unlimited power that lies unused within each one of us. Hanuman directed all his energies towards the worship of Lord Rama, and his undying devotion made him such that he became so powerful, having ample devotional strength and great foresightedness. Hanuman's only desire to serve Lord Rama. Hanuman perfectly exemplifies 'Dasyabhava' devotion — one of the nine types of devotions — that bonds the master and the devotee. His greatness lies in his emotional attachment with his Lord, which also formed the base of his genial qualities.
Hanumat Kavach (shield) is one of the strongest recitation to envelop strengths of Lord Hanuman.

We are guided by thousands and thousands emotional thoughts in our daily life. One positive emotion gives a sense of joy and happiness whereas one negative thought takes us into a gloomy world. Each thought put the immune system into action and thousands and may be millions of chemicals are pumped into our system. These chemicals are responsible for our emotional management. More positivism means more good chemicals and more negativity means more negative chemicals. Its a personal choice to design quality of life. Your thought process guides the mind-body connection and as the connection become permanent our life becomes what we intend to.


Emotional management is the management of emotions and feelings with quality thoughts for physical, mental and emotional well being in one's life. Emotional well being determines the quality of life.
